88 mass-media institutions and associations from Republic of Moldova adopted „The journalist's deontology code from Republic of Moldova” (new edition), publicly committing to observe ethical and professional principles.

„The journalist's deontology code from Republic of Moldova” (new edition) was elaborated during September 2010 –  February 2011 by media experts of the Council of Europe and from Republic of Moldova basing on Professional ethics principles code (Deontology Code) of the journalist from Republic of Moldova”, adopted inn 1999 by the Journalists' Union. While editing the document, the authors took into account the new tendencies in mass-media development and the recommendations of international institutions on journalistic ethics. „The journalist's deontology code from Republic of Moldova” (new edition) embodies a large spectrum of ethical principles, and the journalists can find answers to most of professional dilemmas.

Mass-media institutions and associations from Republic of Moldova which have not adhered to the Code are invited to do this any time, by contacting the Press Council (tel.: 22-09-96). On its web page (www.consiliuldepresa.md), the Press Council regularly updates the list of signatories to “The journalist's deontology code from Republic of Moldova” (new version).

„The journalist's deontology code from Republic of Moldova” (new version) was drafted within the joint program of the European Union and Council of Europe, entitled “Democracy Support Program in Moldova”.
